What was Lost

Well, we lost something at our house tonight.

Miss K lost her tooth tonight. She came into the front room looking quite concerned and distraught. She showed us her tooth. I was do excited for her and asked how it fell out. She was opening a container with her teeth when it came out. She thought she had ruined or broken it. We put it in a baggie then took pictures. She called Mimi to tell her. After that she put it under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy. So exciting. A first tooth. Pin It

First Finished UFO of the Year

Well, I did finish my first UFO (Un-Finished Object).
I had been working on (bought the fabric and had the design) for a year or more.
I needed to make quilts for the Misses' beds.
I finished Miss K's a few months after getting the fabric.
But it took forever to get the Little Misses' done.
I first off had to get a new sewing machine, as mine was dying all the time.
Then I didn't think I had enough room to tie it.
We tie bed quilts around these parts, because Sir Spoil-Her-Highness likes extra fluffy quilts.
As in 2 inches thick.
There is now way I'm going to machine quilt one that thick.
It did fit on the quilting frames in the front room and only took me 6 hours to tie.

What brought this on??
I signed up for the UFO club at our local quilt shoppe
and decided to get something done right away.

I think it turned out pretty good.

The girls love it too!

Wish I hadn't let it sit this long.
Oh well, this is the year to finish all UFOs!!!

New Years Day Yumminess

Last year, Sir Spoil-Her-Highness introduced me to Baklava.
(Not sure if this is the right recipe, but it was the closest I found)
This is quite a yummy treat/delicacy that all should have at least once.
I sure hope there are not many out there allergic to pecans.

The one thing I love about this dessert (other than the obvious fact that it is super tasty) is that it takes the whole (or most) of the family to make.
One person will place the pastry on the tray while the others brush butter on it.

The way you can tell I loved it, is that I ate half a pan all by myself.
Major tummy ache :(
